San Miguel Brewery Vietnam Ltd was originally established as a joint venture between San Miguel (Viet Nam) Ltdand Khanh Hoa Beer Co. on November 12, 1994 as Golden Dragon Brewery Vietnam Ltd. Under the same name the company converted to a wholly foreign-owned company in October 07, 1996.

On June 21, 1999, to better reflect its affiliation with the San Miguel Brewing Group, the company name was officially changed to San Miguel Brewery Viet Nam Ltd.
